Day 1: Mumbai

Today, after waking up near the ocean and the 5-story palm tree outside of our window, we had an enormous breakfast, and then we bought churidar kurtas at FabIndia, then went to visit my great great aunt, Mami, at her condo. I drank masala tea and ate sitafal ice cream. Then, we went to my great aunt's house, where after I got over a terrible stomachache, we took a huge family photo, with all of my distant relatives who I had only met a few times. On the way back to the hotel, we got stuck in a huge traffic jam in the busy streets of Mumbai. My first impressions of Mumbai are that it is bustling, crowded, and loud. There are many different kinds of fruits in India that are so exotic, that they don't even have names or spellings in English. There are also tons of motorized rikshaws that ride around the city by the thousand.

And yes, that is a Subway!
