Day 3: Mumbai

Today was kind of a relaxing day, because it was my mom's birthday, and we had been moving around the city so much over the last two days that we all wanted to spend a day at the hotel relaxing. My cousins, aunt, and uncle left for Mangalore, Calicut, and Tirur today, so now it is just me, my mom, and my grandmother. We had chicken tikka pizza, which is a combination of Indian and American, for lunch. At about 6:00, we watched the sun set from our hotel room. For my mom's birthday dinner, we went to Sampan, a Chinese-Indian restaurant in our hotel, which has really good shredded crispy potatoes, and the best fortune cookies that I have ever had! I took a bite of a green chili, which I do at home a lot, but the Indian ones are much spicier. Tonight, there is a HUGE party going on at the hotel, so I don't think that I'm getting any sleep tonight. There are colored lights, and music, and giant lights that shoot off into the sky. And, the thing is, the party is going on right under our hotel room.

  1. Kavi, How do you communicate with the natives? Do they speak English? Sounds like you are having a blast!
